Description

UNIVERSE BACH
In Florence, for the first time, the complete Concerts for
piano and orchestra by Johann Sebastian Bach
(With the Concerto BWV 1059 reconstructed by Mario Ruffini)

Three evenings from 17 to 24 October
at the Auditorium of Santo Stefano al Ponte (Florence)

With the extraordinary participation of the pianist
Ramin Bahrami

Already the creator of the World Bach-Fest and the Bach in Black review, the director Mario Ruffini brings Universo Bach to Florence, three evenings at the Auditorium of Santo Stefano al Ponte (Saturday 17, Wednesday 21 and Saturday 24 October) in which the integral of Johann Sebastian Bach's Concerts for Piano and Orchestra.

Organized in collaboration with the Florentine Chamber Orchestra, Universo Bach will see the extraordinary participation of pianist Ramin Bahrami (Saturday 17 October, Concerto BWV 1952), one of the greatest interpreters of the Bach repertoire, and of another internationally renowned pianist, Massimiliano Damerini (Wednesday 21 October, Concerts BWV 1054-1056-1057), as well as the young Mattia Fusi, winner of the Bach Prize in Würzburg (Saturday 24 October, Concerts BWV 1053-1055-1058-1059).

For the first time an integral of Bach's concertos for piano and orchestra will include the Concerto in D minor BWV 1059: it will be presented in the "reconstructed" version by Mario Ruffini, who starting from the fragments that have arrived to the present day has completed the score scrupulously Bachian stylistic features (published in 2018 by Edizioni Suvini Zerboni). In addition to the eight Concerts for solo piano, we will also be able to listen to those for two and for three pianos, which are rarely performed.

Universo Bach is part of the Tuscan Lutherie Festival and will see the collaboration of the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Music in Florence and the Luigi Dallapiccola Study Center. Thanks to these collaborations it will be possible to integrate the cycle of eight Piano Concerts only with those for two and three pianos (BWV 1060-1064), entrusted to promising young people from the Cherubini Conservatory.

Concerts start at 9 pm, 10 euro ticket. Presales in progress at the points www.boxofficetoscana.it/punti-vendita and online and on www.ticketone.it .
