Friday 22 and Saturday 23 November at the Sala Bianca of the Pecci Museum in Prato
Chroma Keys, a foray into the cinema and into the wonder of fiction
Silvia Calderoni of Motus brings to the stage a bold and ironic sabotage of the film frame. A performance that creates a new script, which the public will complete
An "alien" body appears and disappears in the scene of a film and a veritable sabotage takes place. It is that of Silvia Calderoni of Motus, who on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 November at the Sala Bianca of the Pecci Museum brings Chroma Keys to the stage, a foray into the cinema and into the wonder of fiction and its old stereoscopic "tricks" (beginning at 9 pm - reservations at 0574 448212 - email@example.com
Chroma Keys is part of the Body To Be program, a project curated by Kinkaleri that explores contemporary performance in its various forms. Hosted for the fourth edition at the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art, Body To Be renews its relationship with the city, looking for the most representative place for every occasion.
The performance explores the possibility of the Green Screen, an ancient cinematographic technique that accelerates the liberating and visionary power of the images at the base of the artifices of so much early cinema.
Silvia Calderoni then plunges into a journey with an apocalyptic climate, immersed in the light of impending disaster that so often occurs in Bela Tarr's filmography ... A motion / motionless that could go on and on, going through "quotes" of films that somehow refer to / they treat / reflect the disappearance, the sense of going or going away, of abandonment, but also of discovery. The futuristic and dystopian atmosphere remains ambiguous and suspended: it presupposes a "world to come" or rather, "a world to come without a world", with the emergence of an event that "ends it with all the events" as in Melancholia by Lars Von Trier? It is up to the public to complete the script.
The Motus company, founded in 1991 by Enrico Casagrande and Daniela Nicolò, explodes in the 90s with shows of great emotional and physical impact, managing to foresee and recount some of the most bitter contradictions of the present.
Since its foundation, it has supported artistic creation - theater performances, performances and installations - with intense cultural activity, conducting seminars, meetings, debates and participating in national and international interdisciplinary festivals. He has received numerous awards, including three UBU awards and prestigious special awards for his work. In 2020 the directors of the company will be artistic directors of the fiftieth edition of the Santarcangelo Festival.
