Alessandra Bossa - electronics, synths, keyboards
Ludovica Manzo - voice, electronics

The O-Janà duo is formed by the singer Ludovica Manzo and the electronic musician / pianist Alessandra Bossa. One from jazz and research music, the other from classical and contemporary music, combines electronics, improvisation and songwriting in a completely original way.
Their music explores the possible paths that from the closed form lead to total improvisation and vice versa, trying to expand the boundaries of melody and song form through electronic and sound cut-up. Pulsations that arise from the improvisational gesture, bizarre games between sound and word, stories hidden in dreamlike landscapes, are elements of their original compositions and live performances.

The widespread presence in Sweden, where Alessandra has lived since 2011, has brought to the duo a particular attention to the timbre mixture created by the fusion of acoustic and electronic sounds and to dilated and liquid atmospheres that turn their gaze precisely to the current North European and Scandinavian music scene in particular. This is joined by a natural resonance of the Mediterranean, given by the Neapolitan origin of the two musicians, which manifests itself in the melodic choices and in the search for a "classicism" even if immersed in the contemporary sound world.
O-Janà has played in major festivals and clubs in Europe and North America including Porto's Casa da Musica, Toronto Jazz Festival, Stockholm Jazz Festival, Gotebörg Gas Festival, Copenhagen Winter Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival, Swiss Institute of Rome, Europe Jazz Conference Novara.

He published the first eponymous ep in 2012, recorded at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg.
In 2013 he began a collaboration with the percussionist / drummer Michele Rabbia which led to the creation of the album "Inland Images" (Folderol Records, 2108) which sees the participation in two songs by the Norwegian guitarist Eivind Aarset.
In 2019 they are part of the project to promote Italian jazz in Italy and abroad "New Generation Jazz" supported by MIBAC, IJazz and Siae.
