The title of this new edition From the Brass Convivium to the Banquet of Knowledge wants to be a clear tribute to Dante Alighieri, on the 700th anniversary of his birth. From the Brass Convivium to the Banquet of Knowledge lays its foundations in the two Dante pillars attributed to the human soul, Strength and Love, as well as foundations of universal knowledge and knowledge. Love and Strength are immortal and eternal constants that find fulfillment in our Art, Music. It is no coincidence that Dante, precisely in Book II, this banquet of knowledge, his Convivio, exalts the figure of Orpheus, that poet who, with the love of the sounds of his magical lyre, bewitched man and enchanted nature, just as with the Force of passion he was able to move stones, to appease worries and to regenerate souls. Dante-Orfeo is for the Festival, the poet-prophet who invites us to the new musical banquet, to share the universal knowledge of the world of Brass. As in the Convivio, the Festival focuses on the popular element of knowledge, constantly looking for a the widest possible audience, that audience that, as for Dante, in all previous editions, and especially in the 21st mined by the health emergency, concisely and coincides with the whole of humanity. Like the Convivio, our Festival is a work in progress, a continuous evolution and transmission of knowledge to the new generations, to young musicians from all over the world who attend the masterclasses of the most famous teachers of national, European and international lyric-symphonic institutions. . Our teachers, just like Dante, are the new musical prophets, those who carry out the didactic mission and sit with their students at the Convivio to feed together knowledge. Just as, in the concerts of the Festival calendar, we declare love for our Italian speech from the Force and universal expressive potential: Music.
Every day we have a detailed calendar of appointments that you can enjoy live, if the conditions relating to the health emergency allow it, or online from your home, from your living room, from your study, from your garden. We launch a very strong and new signal of resumption of musical life from the control room in Florence.
The Masterclasses and the International Competition 'Wings to Talent' The Festival opens with the International Competition 'Wings to Talent', with a Brass Jury of great international standing which, during the week, with the daily masterclasses, will take care of the training of hundreds of young people musicians and professionals from all over the planet. The winners of the competition will be rewarded with scholarships offered by ANBIMA (National Association of Italian Music Autonome Bands), which has always been alongside our Festival, committed to supporting the younger generation of musicians.

Vento del bosco for soprano and brass ensemble is a tribute to Dante Alighieri and the Beginning of the Divine Comedy. Inspired by a piece of prose on the figure of the Lonza by Francesca Andreini, the occasion of the composition takes up the tension between the human being (Dante) and the animal, symbol of nature and instinct, the primal force to which man it tries in vain to escape. The music expresses much of the text, while the soprano's voice outlines its most expressive and dramatically salient features.
