The 2020 edition of " The Concerts at the Last Supper" , which the L'Homme Armé Association has been running since 1994 and is the longest-running annual festival of early music in Tuscany, will take place from 15 to 24 October not only in the evocative hall of Last Supper by Andrea del Sarto in the Museum of San Salvi (Sunday 18) , a precious exhibition space within the Florentine museum circuit with the magnificent fresco of the Last Supper dating from around 1511-1527, the historical site of the event, but also in other significant places of Florence (such as the former church, now Auditorium di Sant'Apollonia in via San Gallo 25) and the metropolitan city: the Pieve dei Santi Pietro e Paolo in Cascia (Piazza S. Pietro 2, Reggello; October 16 ), the Certosa di Firenze (Via della Certosa 1, October 17), the Pieve di San Lorenzo in Borgo San Lorenzo ( October 24 ) and the Abbey of Santi Salvatore e Lorenzo a Settimo (better known as Badia a Settimo ; 23 October ); the concerts are all free , except that of Marco Mencoboni at the San Salvi Museum , which costs 8 euros . All in compliance with anti-covid rules. Tickets for the concert at the San Salvi Museum on October 18th can be purchased on site one hour before the show, but due to seat restrictions due to safety regulations, reservations are highly recommended ; even more so for free events; given the limits imposed, in order not to risk collecting more requests than necessary, telephone and email bookings have been deactivated and you can only book directly from the website www.hommearme.it (each event has its own button and each booking is valid only for the chosen event; for information only, you can call 339 6757446 or write to informazioni@hommearme.it

The inaugural concert, initially scheduled at the Cenacolo di San Salvi, has been moved to the larger Auditorium of Sant'Apollonia. Here on Thursday 15 October at 9 pm (on the occasion of the Festa della Toscana 2019) the Ensemble L'Homme Armé directed by Fabio Lombardo (Rossana Bertini, soprano; Mya Fracassini, mezzo-soprano; Andrés Montilla Acurero, tenor; Riccardo Pisani, tenor; Gabriele Lombardi , baritone) presents «Quel dolce foco. The madrigal in 16th century Florence », with music by Philippe Verdelot, Jacques Arcadelt, Costanzo Festa, Francesco Corteccia. It will be repeated on Friday 16th in Reggello and Saturday 17th at the Certosa di Firenze, again at 9pm.

At the Last Supper in the Museum of San Salvi, on Sunday 18 October at 5.30 pm Marco Mencoboni , internationally renowned harpsichordist, presents the concert «Le Vertigo. French harpsichord music », during which music by L. Couperin, JH d'Anglebert, A. Forqueray, JF Dandrieu, CB Balbastre, J. Royer will be listened to (single fee, 8 euros).

The final concerts, Friday 23 October at 9.15 pm in the magnificent Badia a Settimo (via S. Lorenzo a Settimo, Scandicci) and Saturday 24 October at 9.15 pm in the medieval Pieve di San Lorenzo (via Cocchi 4, Borgo San Lorenzo) are free admission , but far from poor: the Ensemble L'Homme Armé directed by Fabio Lombardo (Mya Fracassini, mezzo-soprano; Marta Fumagalli, mezzo-soprano; Andres Montilla Acurero, tenor; Paolo Fanciullacci, tenor; Riccardo Pisani, tenor; Gabriele Lombardi, baritone; Andrea Perugi, organ) performs «Plorat to love. Sacred and spiritual music by Claudio Monteverdi ». All the concert venues outside the city, whether known or not, bear witness to the long and complex history of the area. Inside there are often notable works of art which, thanks also to these events, can be recognized and better appreciated. Without forgetting that around these places there are living communities to which these concerts (with free admission) are aimed, so that we can better understand the intertwining of artistic expressions that is the basis of our history.
