FOLKSTONE: THE GOODBYE TOUR (2004 - 2019)
ONE LAST WITH HEAVY STEP
"Diary of a last ... tour" was no joke. We always thought that making music was a shared inner urgency. What we wanted to say with the Folkstone project we said in these intense years spent sharing with you our music and our way of doing it. Or at least we tried, putting ourselves in full. Thus a circle is closed, the Folkstones melt. At the end, a wonderful and profound story of music, faces, words and friendship turns out.
We don't want to dwell too much. Soon we will start with the last tour, to give ourselves the precious opportunity to be able to greet you properly ... like only you who have supported us album after album, concert after concert, year after year you deserve. Everyone says it, but we really believe it ... you are the best audience that an "artist" can ask. Thank you all ... see you for the final greetings before the curtain falls for the last time.
Presales available on TicketOne circuit.
The Folkstones were born towards the end of 2004 with a project that combines hard rock with instruments that tradition usually wants in an acoustic guise. Thus, breaking each pattern, the protagonists of the scene become bagpipes, bombarde, harp, cittern, bouzouki, hurdy-gurdy and flute, creating the evocative atmosphere that has always characterized the band and the feeling with the public. It is therefore the Folkstone Records label. independent to which they give life and with which they record their first live DVD Restano i Frammenti (2012). Beyond ... the Abyss comes out in November 2014 and sees the precious collaboration of two musicians such as Chris Dennis (ex Modena City Ramblers, Nomadi ...) on the violin and Fidel Fogaroli (ex Verdena) on the piano. Rock and pure energy accompany introspective and autobiographical texts that take a critical look at today's society, also told through stories of unusual characters who have left their mark.
On November 3, 2017 Ossidiana is released, recorded and produced by Tommy Vetterli (Coroner, Kreator) at the New Sound Studio in Switzerland. In their energetic live, which sees them treading numerous stages in clubs and festivals in Italy and abroad, they propose an alternation of their works that have so far recorded. The first two, Folkstone (2008) and Damnati ad Metalla (2010) come out with the Fuel Records / Self label, from which they first separate with the Sgangogatt acoustic collection (2011) and finally with the fourth album Il Confine (2012). The new album is presented on March 30th at the Live Club of Trezzo sull'Adda (Milan) and on April 12th at the Orion Club in Rome. The stage will see a new line up. Teo and Andrea, historical members of the band who have shared the journey of the Folkstone caravan since the dawn, have in fact decided to continue in other ways, giving way to the multi-instrumentalist Marco Legnani.
Diario Di Un Ultimo is the seventh Folkstone album study and successor of the acclaimed Obsidian released in 2017 distributed by Universal Music. The Deluxe edition of the new album also contains a Live DVD, recorded at the Latteria Molloy (Bs) in October 2018, which therefore sanctions the last concert of the historical formation.
