Organized and promoted by OEO Firenze Art and Le Nozze di Figaro in collaboration with Ono Arte Contemporanea, Metropolitan City of Florence, Comune di Firenze, Mus.e, #SUKITADAYS represent a special occasion to learn and listen to the great master of photography who has followed Bowie for over forty years, bringing back the soul and essence of man and artist in the 90 photographs shown in the exhibition.
Many opportunities will take place inside the Limonaia del Palazzo: two sessions of FIRMACOPIE on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May from 15.30 to 17.30 (free admission with the obligation to purchase the catalog of the exhibition published by OEO Florence ), and on Monday 27 May at 17.00 a TALK open to the public in possession of the exhibition ticket. The talk, produced in collaboration with Polimoda , will be introduced by Francesco Brunacci (journalist, writer and professor of Fashion Journalism) and will see the participation of Maurizio Guidoni (ONO ARTE) as well as the artist. Masayoshi Sukita , born in 1938 after studying photography and various experiences in the world of advertising, joins Delta Mondo mainly dealing with the creation of photo shoots for men's fashion, for which he wins several awards. From the late 1960s he began to develop a great interest in subcultures and participated in the Woodstock Festival in 1969. From that moment he began attending the various musical and artistic scenes of cities such as New York and London. In 1972 he was in London to perform a report for Marc Bolan of T-Rex and on that occasion he was able to meet David Bowie for the first time. While working with Bowie, Sukita however immortalizes many other artists including, Iggy Pop, Joe Strummer, Yellow Magic Orchestra by Ryuichi Sakamoto, B52, Devo, Pil, with collaborations also in the way of cinema (Jim Jarmusch, Shuji Terayama). His works have been exhibited in major museums around the world.
